Hello,

I’m Laura and I’m the main author of German-American Abroad. I grew up in a rural area in Germany and enjoyed the European lifestyle for quite a while. In 2010 I decided to drastically change my life and move to the exciting city of New York. The Big Apple has helped me in shaping my perspective on life, love and all great things in general. I’ve come to nurture my passion in writing and photography over the years I’ve been calling New York my home. It was only a matter of time until I decided to go on the worldwideweb and connect with a larger audience.
I originally started this blog to update some close friends and family on how I was doing so far away from home. It turns out, a great amount of other people (and strangers) also became interested in my writings. So here I am, about a decade after creating this blog. Connected to a bunch of amazing people while describing day-to-day life in what has now turned into a multitude of travels and other adventures.
Thank you for taking the time and reading through my site.
There are some great published works here.
Get in touch with me through the contact page.
I am happy to answer any inquiries you have or simply connect with other awesome writers/ photographers/ inspiring people.
Very glad to have found your blog through ginger. I love new york after just two visits and would love to move someday so enjoying finding your blog x
wow —
I like being a mystery person 🙂
That’s awesome that you kind of get to have the best of both worlds. Enjoy your adventures in New York 🙂
Thanks for visiting my blog, Laura! I’ve been enjoying reading various posts on yours as well. I think it’s a bit late to say welcome to the US given it’s been 19 months but nonetheless there you have it. NY is fabulous and glad to see you are enjoying the experience – with all it entails ;). Boston is great, too! I love both cities but definitely miss NY. Living out west would definitely be different …
