Writing this last post in a series of four seems harder than usual. Even though I know I could go on and on every single month for the duration of a year or two, it won’t happen. I will continue to count my gratitudes every single day but I don’t think posting Read More »
What was a pre-cursor for last week continued this week: All of a sudden the clock raced forward and to what a wild extent! But there were many amazing moments to celebrate and I am so grateful to have made it through every single one of them. Read More »
Hallgrimskirkja was certainly one of those sights I simply had to visit again. While I only skimmed past this beautiful church on my last visit, I finally went back for a couple of nights and mornings to do some proper long-exposure photography.Read More »
After the epic South Iceland adventure and two full days filled with an exhausting schedule (read more here, here and here), it was time to relax. And what better city to do it in than in chill Reykjavik?
Since I had already explored it during my stay in April 2015, I knew what sites I wanted to check out (again) and which ones I needn’t see another time. Read More »
It’s important to remind oneself of certain milestones. To stop and be still for a moment, cherishing everything that has been accomplished up until this moment.
Today marks the day I entered New York six years ago. On March 15th of 2010, I decided to put my previous life and expectations on hold and to enter a new dream. Read More »
My month of gratitude continues and with it some new things to be grateful for every day.
What was particularly hard this past week was not so much the feeling of gratitude but the lack of time. Sometimes it’s a challenge to not fall back into a rut. I’m trying so hard to not give in to the post-travel-blues and to acknowledge my day-to-day-life again. But on some days reality can become a bit depressing. I’ve therefore created cheerfulness in my life this month.Read More »
The next morning held a special surprise for us: The sky opened up, revealing the beautiful sugar-capped volcanoes and a breath-taking landscape. After more than 48 hours of constant snowfall, we were finally able to see Iceland in a sunny light (which I still remembered from April). And after an energizing breakfast and some more socializing, we were finally up to an adventure. As in proper hiking and exploring of the stunning scenery. Read More »
I was looking forward to two days of exploring South Iceland and seeing all the wonders this part of the island had to offer. What better way to do it than with GoEcco Tours? One of their tours was called “Catch the Ice” and it certainly Read More »
Day one: What exciting times were to be ahead!
Landing with a red-eye flight on my first day in Iceland was perhaps one of the best ways to kick that jetlag in the behind. It seems that most flights from the US land extremely early. While I was waiting around at the airport at 6am, I therefore got to see a couple of tour groups from Seattle beingRead More »
